A Rainy Day
This image was taken during my class for photography it was raining so I wasn’t able to be outside for too long I tried to take pictures of areas that couldn’t get the camera wet. I randomly took a look at the room number sign and decided it looked good with all the droplets. The compositional rule I have in my picture is framing, symmetry, and rule of thirds it have framing due to the fact it has the numbers. Symmetry because it looks the same on both sides and the sign is balanced. I used a Nikon D5300 with a 18-140mm lens I used the higher focal length to make the image how I wanted it. All I did to this image was make it more clearer and changed the exposure. I chose this to be monochromatic because the colors of picture are black and white mostly. The image was printed on Epson P800 digital printer with Epson Glossy Photo Paper.

David Hockney was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, on July 9, 1937. He is known for his picture collages and paintings of swimming pools in Los Angeles. Early paintings were on his literary leanings. He started to paint such things as oceans, flowers and portraits. He is the type of artist to create paintings and collages of pictures on top of each other. My artwork shows the emulation of his work because I used multiple images and collaged them. I tried to use different composition such rule of thirds and framing to emulate his style with the collage looks. I switched different pictures to make it work together
I chose this magazine because really like how they don't have many advertisements because the people in the picture are wearing clothes that are hard to obtain so they get their money to advertise. It's a concept they have done since they have started it nice to have a magazine that doesn't have many ads and titles everywhere. I tried to emulate the magazine cover from the pose the model did and the captions because hypebeast revolves around simplistic views. The font style I used was the same as the magazine to emulate the style of the magazine and the color working with the cover title being grey/black because it works with the cover. The set up I had was a light strip that I had my friend David hold while Rey took the picture of me doing the pose of the magazine I was emulating. A strobe light is a powerful light that flashes super fast to get good lighting for pictures. When releasing the shutter speed the light goes off.
A modeling light is the one that stays on and shows how the picture will go off and it would be used when taking portraitures. A soft box is what makes pictures look even with light. A soft box is a type of system that helps with the softness of light for a picture. We use it to create a better picture light. A reflector is to make faces look light but also dark enough to have a good picture come out of it to be balanced. A grey card is for someone to hold and be able to see how the colors on the card are seen. a radio trigger system is a small device that is mounted on top of the camera that wirelessly connects to a off camera flash so no long wires are needed while shooting studio shots. What I used in photoshop was I took I picture of me putting my hands out with a tripod and my mirror less camera. I made the picture be really bright in my hands to show like the light bulb is on. Then I took a picture of my lightbulb and layered mask it to seem like I was holding it because I wouldn't come out symmetrical. Then I used a picture of ocean's beach's pier then layered mask it to another sunset to make it pop. After I took a picture off the internet for world to be on top. I Like the concept I created by making my picture be very yellowish.
1. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to learn anything in the duckpond because I wasn't there to take pictures. I ended up learning a lot between when to use the reflector what poses to use for the models as well as what apertures to use.
2. What I used to decide on my poses for my models was this piece of paper Ms. Moncure gave us that had many poses to choose from and I used it to come up with ideas. 3. The way I use the reflector was by making someone hold it in the side of the models face so the white side can make his face soften from the sun. 4. What I specifically did to retouch the pictures was retouch imperfection, layer masking to delete junk in the background. Also my ISO was low that it mad the pictures look light in color. 5. Positions that use portrait photography are like family photographers and any model photography. The people that hire them are like senior pictures, weddings, family pictures, and sport photography. The salary ranges from like 40,000 to 70,000 after like 2 years. The average charge is from 15-20 dollars an hour. |
